LA MIRADA, CA (February 26, 2024) – Craq FC might be the darkhorse in this year's Raul Briones Cup.

Samuel Romero got the goal in the 22nd minute and Craq FC held on for a 1-0 victory over Northeast Los Angeles FC in the first leg of a SoCal Premier League Raul Briones Cup Quarterfinal Round match at Los Angeles City College Stadium on Sunday, Feb. 25.

The Fullerton, CA-based club was a late entry to the tournament but won all three matches in the group stage before a comfortable 5-1 victory over FC Cypress on Jan. 28 in the Round of 16.

Lobos FC might have a dog in this fight still after a 2-0 victory over Artesia DES FC at Ross Middle School on Sunday.

In the other two matches, Southwest SC hosts AMSG FC 2 on Saturday at Patricia H. Birdsall Sports Park in Temecula, while the Rose City FC-La Familia FC tilt has been pushed to Saturday, March 9.

The second-leg quarterfinal round matchups for the Raul Briones Cup will take place March 23-24.
