Raul Briones Cup Recap: FC United Kingdom Earns Upset Win

LA MIRADA, CA (February 27, 2023) - The chase in the SoCal Premier League continues but for now FC United Kingdom can say it sits on top of Capistrano FC.

FCUK earned a 2-1 victory over Capistrano FC, the current SoCal Premier League leaders, on Saturday, Feb. 25, in the first leg of the Raul Briones Cup quarterfinals.

Problems FC, currently second in SoCal Premier, got a 6-0 win over Olympiacos CA II, and Real Sociedad Royals beat first-timers Medallo City FC, 8-0, on Sunday.

In the other close quarterfinal, Temecula FC went on the road and edged Inland Empire FC 1-0 at Ralph M. Lewis Sports Park on Sunday.

Each team will hold its goal advantage into the second-leg matchups, scheduled for March 25-26.
